Cancelling Dubsado is a one-minute job. Getting your money back is where the details matter — Dubsado’s refund window is 14 days on annual plans, refunds are only issued on request, and cancelling can permanently forfeit a legacy price you’ll never get back.
Here’s the exact path, what happens to your account, and the timing that decides whether you see a refund.
How to cancel Dubsado
Dubsado accepts cancellations only inside your account — not by phone or email.
- Sign in and open Settings (the gear icon) → Billing.
- Find the card for the workspace (brand) you want to cancel.
- Click the Manage dropdown on that card → Cancel plan.
- In the “Cancel subscription?” dialog, click Yes, cancel subscription.
Only the workspace owner can reach Billing — if you’re on a team and don’t see the Billing tab, the owner has to do it.
What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of your current billing cycle. Nothing stops immediately — your brand stays usable through the period you already paid for.
- Your brand deactivates at the end of that cycle, at which point it’s subject to restrictions Dubsado shows you during the cancellation flow.
- Cancelling one brand cancels its add-ons — for example a multi-user subscription attached to it.
- Cancelling your primary brand cancels everything — all additional brands and their add-ons. Confirm which brand is your primary under Settings → Billing before you start.
If you don’t want to cancel but the plan is the problem, remember a downgrade might solve it — the tiers and what each one actually unlocks are broken down in Dubsado pricing, explained.
The refund rules — read this before you cancel
This is where Dubsado is stricter than most competitors. Refunds are only issued upon request — email billing@dubsado.com or use the chat icon in your account. Once a refund is processed, your account is cancelled immediately.
- Annual plan: you must cancel and request a refund within 14 days of your last charge to get a full refund. There are no pro-rated refunds if you cancel mid-plan, and nothing after 14 days — no exceptions.
- Monthly plan: cancel any time. A refund, if any, is limited to your most recent charge — no more than one month back.
- Forever / lifetime plan: all sales are final. No refunds.
So the practical takeaway: if you upgraded to annual recently and changed your mind, act within the 14-day window. After that, the subscription runs to the end of the term whether you use it or not.
The legacy-pricing trap
If your account sits on a legacy rate — a price no longer offered to new customers — your subscription’s continuation is what keeps it. That rate ends, and current pricing applies from your next billing date, if you:
- cancel or deactivate your subscription (even if you reactivate later),
- switch between the Starter and Premier plans, or
- let the subscription lapse for nonpayment for more than 21 days.
Switching between monthly and annual on the same plan, or updating your card, does not affect it. And once a legacy rate ends, it cannot be restored — so a “quick cancel to save a month” can permanently raise your price if you come back.
Don’t bother cancelling a free trial
If you’re still inside Dubsado’s 21-day trial and don’t want to continue, take no action — the trial does not roll into a paid plan on its own.
What happens to your data
Dubsado keeps your content for 90 days after cancellation; after that it can delete it (with an email warning first). Connected apps — including AI assistants linked through their MCP server — lose access once the brand deactivates. Export before you cancel, not after: see the migration guide for the export-and-rebuild sequence, which is the same mechanics for a Dubsado move.
FAQ
Can I cancel Dubsado by email or phone? No. Dubsado states plainly that it does not accept cancellations by phone or email — you must cancel inside the account under Settings → Billing.
When does my Dubsado access actually end? At the end of your current billing cycle, not at the moment you click cancel. Your brand then deactivates.
Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-year? Only if you’re within 14 days of your last annual charge, and you request it explicitly. There are no pro-rated refunds for the rest of the term.
Will cancelling affect a legacy price? Yes — cancelling (or deactivating) ends a legacy rate permanently, even if you reactivate later. If you’re grandfathered in, weigh that before you cancel.
Does cancelling one brand cancel the others? Cancelling a secondary brand cancels just that brand and its add-ons. Cancelling your primary brand cancels all brands and add-ons on the account.
I’m leaving HoneyBook too — where do I start? The cancellation mechanics differ, but the export-and-rebuild steps don’t. Read how to cancel HoneyBook for how the other side handles access and refunds, then follow the migration guide.
The bottom line
Cancelling Dubsado is easy; getting refunded is the part with a clock on it. On annual plans, you have 14 days from your last charge to cancel and request a refund — miss it and the term runs out. Watch the legacy-rate rule if you’re a long-time customer, and export your data first, since it’s only guaranteed for 90 days after you leave. Then decide where to land with our Dubsado alternatives roundup.
